\nTel Aviv, Jumaat , 29\/10\/2007 – <\/b> Akhbar Maariv berbahasa Ibrani di sini telah mendedahkan statistik yang amat menggerunkan mengenai fenomena bunuh diri di kalangan anggota tentera rejim Zionis Israel.

\nMenurut laporan yang telah dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Pertahanan rejim Zionis Israel pada bulan Ogos yang lepas, bilangan tentera mereka yang membunuh diri melebihi bilangan mereka yang terkorban sewaktu pertempuran dengan rakyat Palestin. Laporan tersebut telah menimbulkan kebimbangan di kalangan keluarga-keluarga Yahudi yang mempunyai ahli keluarga di dalam tentera.<\/p>\n

Pada awal tahun ini sahaja, kes-kes bunuh diri di kalangan tentera mereka mencatat rekod sebagai sebab utama kematian para anggota tentera di dalam Israel (baca: tanah Palestin yang dijajah). Pada tahun lepas sahaja bilangan tentera yang membunuh diri adalah sebanyak 43 orang, berbanding 30 yang terkorban sewaktu pertempuran. Bilangan tersebut mencatat kenaikan sabanyak 30% berbanding tahun 2002. Bilangan tersebut dijangka meningkat pada tahun 2004 ini.<\/p>\n

Mengenai sebab mereka memilih jalan untuk membunuh diri, menurut laporan tersebut ialah kerana tekanan perasaan dan juga ketakutan untuk berhadapan dengan serangan berani syahid rakyat Palestin yang tidak dapat diduga bila akan berlaku. Selain daripada itu, latihan-latihan yang lasak dan juga keengganan mereka untuk melaksanakan tugas membunuh rakyat awam Palestin juga adalah di antara penyebab kepada tindakan membunuh diri tersebut.<\/p>\n
