Khamis, 3\/2\/2005 –<\/b>Perdana Menteri Israel, Ariel Sharon bertemu dengan ketua Badan Intelijen Mesir, Jenderal Omar Sulaiman dalam rangka kembali menjayakan perundingan keamanan antara Palestin dan Israel.

\nSeperti yang dikeluarkan oleh Aljazeera, TV Israel menyebutkan bahawa pertemuan itu difokuskan untuk membahas masalah-masalah yang dialami pihak Palestin dan Israel soal penarikan pasukan tentera Zionis-Israel dan sebahagian bandar Tebing Barat. Sulaiman sendiri telah bertemu dengan para pemimpin gerakan Islam, Hamas dan Jihad Islami di Kaherah untuk membincangkan masalah jalan keluar dari konflik dengan alternatif dalam masa perjanjian genjatan senjata (masa tenang). <\/p>\n\nMenteri Urusan Palestin, Shaib Urekat menegaskan bahawa penarikan pasukan Israel yang seharusnya dilakukan pada hari Selasa (01\/02\/05) dari empat bandar di Tebing Barat akan dibincangkan dalam pertemuan yang dijalankan di Dewan Tinggi Urusan Perundingan antara Israel dan Palestin. <\/p>\n
