Rabu, 08-01-2014 – Tahanan Palestin Mutassim Raddad, 20, disuruh menjalani pembedahan untuk membuang usus besarnya dan diganti dengan usus plastik atau tiruan.
Peguam Raddad berkata tahanan tersebut menderita kanser usus dan pendarahan sejak 2009 dan akhir-akhir ini para doktor Israel di hospital Meir mencadangkan usus besarnya dibuang dan diganti dengan usus plastik.
Peguam itu berkata, pembedahan itu sangat bahaya dan berisiko mengancam nyawa serta menyatakan Raddan meminta beliau menangguhkan pembedahan agar beliau dapat berbincang dengan keluarga dan doktor lain. Peguam itu turut berkata, para doktor Israel memberitahu sudah tiada pilihan lain kerana keadaan kesihatan Raddad yang semakin teruk dan badannya sudah tidak mampu menerima ubatan.
