Sejak serangan Israel sepanjang 50 hari ke atas Semenanjung Gaza yang berakhir pada 27 Ogos, tentera Israel telah meluaskan ‘ no- go zon ‘ di sepanjang sempadan Gaza , sekali gus berkesan merampas 40% daripada keluasan tanah yang berbaki yang amat sesak di Semenanjung Gaza.
Menurut perjanjian gencatan senjata awal, ‘no -go zon ‘ sepatutnya dikurangkan kepada 100 meter dari pagar sempadan. Semasa gencatan senjata itu petani dapat masuk ke kawasan tanah mereka yang telah ditetapkan. Tidak lama selepas itu ia berubah, dan tentera Israel mula dengan cepat memperluaskan ‘no-go-zon’ . Tiada jarak tertentu di mana rakyat Palestin yakin bahawa mereka boleh menjadi selamat untuk mengusahakan tanah .
