Rabu, 17-09-2014 – Walaupun kebanyakan sekolah di Semenanjung Gaza musnah teruk dan ribuan cedera serta meninggal dunia, ratusan ribu kanak-kanak Gaza yang masih diselubungi kesedihan kembali ke sekolah dengan penuh tekad untuk meneruskan pengajian.
Ratusan ribu kanak-kanak kembali ke sekolah pada Ahad, setelah penangguhan selama 3 minggu dari tarikh asal permulaan tahun baru persekolahan, akibat daripada kekejaman Israel ke atas kanak-kanak dan orang awam Gaza ketika serangan 50 hari ke atas Gaza.
Kebanyakan sekolah termasuk sekolah-sekolah UNRWA (Agensi Bantuan dan Kebajikan Persatuan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu) dibom teruk oleh Israel dan menyebabkan ratusan kematian orang awam dan keluarga yang berlindung di situ. Azhar Tamer Jundiyya, salah seorang kanak-kanak tersebut berdiri di hadapan 60 orang rakan sekolahnya untuk mendeklamasikan sajak yang ditujukan buat bapanya yang dibunuh ketika serangan Israel.
